There is a Shuping genealogy book. Author J. Ross Shuping, M.D., 113 Jamestown Road, Greenville NC 27858; $25.00. It documents Shupings in Rowan, Burke, Cabarrus and mecklenberg Counties descended from Louis Juppin aka Ludwig Schupping who moved from France to Hassloch, Germany, in the Pfalz and became a citizen there in 1658. The American ancestor of all these Shupings is Johann Nicholas Schupping (born 1739 in Germany), residing in Pennsylvania in 1767; wife Catherine Holshouser. They had moved to North Carolina by 1784 when her father Casper Holshouser made his will.
