Madeline was born on 26 January 1890 at Andrew, Jackson County, Iowa. She married Howard Warren Kreger on 30 January 1939 at Lutheran church parsonage, Andrew, Jackson County, Iowa.2 Madeline died on 28 June 1961 at age 71.
Madeline Elizabeth Cornelius also went by the name of "Little Lena" Cornelius. Madeline Elizabeth Cornelius was also known as Madeline Cornelius Kreger. Madeline Elizabeth Cornelius was also known as Lena Cornelius. She lived at Perry Township, Jackson County, Iowa, on 1 June 1900 with Conrad W Cornelius and Elizabeth Louisa Cornelius; Enumerated family # 72.3 Madeline Elizabeth Cornelius lived at Madison Street, Andrew, Jackson County, Iowa, on 1 January 1920 with Elizabeth Louisa Cornelius.4 Madeline Elizabeth Cornelius was a schoolteacher at the Curly School circa 1920 at Canton, Lincoln County, South Dakota.5 She lived at Cass Street, Andrew, Jackson County, Iowa, on 1 April 1930 with John Sebald Cornelius.6 Her married name was Kreger. Lena Kreger wrote an account of her wedding and honeymoon as follows. (I replicate the original spelling and punctuation, but may revise spacing between the words.)

Madeline married Howard W. Kreger Jan 30, 1939, at Andrew, Iowa. The marriage was performed in the Parish home of Rev Herman Diers, who was the Pastor of Salems Lutheran Church at that time. The attendants were, Mr and Mrs L.A. Cornelius, and Edgar Cornelius. The plan was to spend the night at Chicago, with Nurse sister, Bertha Cornelius, but Chicago had been hit by one of its snowstorms, so that they did not reach that city until the next evening, after which, on Feb 1st they started for Allentown, Pennsylvania where they spent a few days of their honeymoon and purchased a huge Mack truck that Howard was to use for a number of years in his chosen profession, that of mover.

Coming home, they fastened their Coupe securely behind the Mack's Cab, and rode home to Andrew, Ia. where a reception was given them in the home there, and on St Valentine's Day, Feb 14th, they drove to their home at 1251 Beech St. Waterloo. The folks there had had time to get a reception ready also, and so for the second time in two days a really old fashioned Charivari, was given them. There had been a band of ladies who serenaded them the night before at Andrew, they were members of the A.L.L.A. (Andrew Ladies Literary Association) of which Madeline had been a member for many years, they wanted to be remembered by her as having made a little din at least!2

On 1 April 1940 Madeline Elizabeth Kreger and Howard Warren Kreger lived at 1251 Beech Street, Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa.7
