He also had lodging in their household.10 On 1 January 1920 Edward Carl Gesang lived at Cherokee Township, Montgomery County, Kansas.10 On 1 May 1930 Edward Carl Gesang and Vella Grace Gesang lived at Canada Township, Labette County, Kansas.11 On 1 April 1935 Edward Carl Gesang and Vella Grace Gesang lived at Labette County, Kansas.12 On 1 April 1940 Edward Carl Gesang and Vella Grace Gesang lived at Liberty Township, Stone County, Arkansas.12 On 27 April 1942 Edward Carl Gesang and Vella Grace Gesang lived at Mountain View, Stone County, Arkansas.13 They resided at Liberty Township, Stone County, Arkansas, on 5 April 1950. Their farm was apparently located on Sugar Hill Road northwest from its intersection with Highway no. 9, 4-3/4 miles, on the left side of the road.14
