     Oliver was born on 7 September 1935 at Eureka, McPherson County, South Dakota.¹ He was christened on 6 October 1935 at McIntosh County, South Dakota. He married Rosalia Ann Kruger on 21 September 1958 at Waverly, Bremer County, Iowa.² Oliver died on 10 December 2020 at Fargo, Cass County, North Dakota, at age 85. He was buried on 19 December 2020 at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Ashley, McIntosh County, North Dakota.
     He was employed as a Lutheran pastor at various American Lutheran Church (ALC) parishes in western North Dakota. He lived at Township 129 Range 68, McIntosh County, North Dakota, on 1 April 1940 with Fred Dewald and Christina Dewald.³ Oliver Fred Dewald lived at Ashley, McIntosh County, North Dakota, on 19 April 1950 with Fred Dewald and Christina Dewald.⁴ Oliver Fred Dewald graduated in 1957 from Wartburg College Waverly, Bremer County, Iowa.⁵ He was a first-year student from 1957 to 1958 at Wartburg Seminary Waverly, Bremer County, Iowa.⁵ He was a nonresident second-year Wartburg Seminary student from 1958 to 1959 at Augustana Hochschule Neuendettelsau, West Germany.⁵ He was a third-year student from 1959 to 1960 at Wartburg Seminary Waverly, Bremer County, Iowa.⁵ He was employed by St. James Lutheran Church from 1960 to 1961 at Mason City, Cerro Gordo County, Iowa, as Intern Pastor. (Lutheran seminary students usually served an internship between the second and third year of residency, but because he had spent his second year of study overseas his internship requirement was deferred until after third year of study.⁵ From 1 August 1961 to 25 April 1965 Oliver Fred Dewald and Rosalia Ann Dewald lived at Mercer, North Dakota. From 25 April 1965 to 18 August 1969 Oliver Fred Dewald and Rosalia Ann Dewald lived at New Leipzig, Grant County, North Dakota.
