     Emma was born on 23 May 1915 at Andrew, Jackson County, Iowa.1 She was baptized on 23 May 1915, the day of her birth, at Jackson County, Iowa, at the family home, by the local Lutheran Pastor. She married Emil John Kruger on 28 December 1934 at Rock Island, Illinois. Emma Louise Cornelius died on 17 August 2007 at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community, Waverly, Iowa, at age 92.2
     She lived at Jackson Township, Jackson County, Iowa, on 1 January 1920 with Charles Jacob Cornelius and Bertha Marie Cornelius.3 Emma was confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church at age 12, on 1 April 1928 at Andrew, Jackson County, Iowa. Her birth/baptism and confirmation each took place on Pentecost Sunday of the respective years..4 She lived at Jackson Township, Jackson County, Iowa, on 1 April 1930 with Charles Jacob Cornelius and Bertha Marie Cornelius.5 Emma Louise Cornelius attended rural elementary school at Jackson No. 9 near the family farm Jackson Township, Jackson County, Iowa. She received a teaching certificate circa May 1934 from Wartburg Normal College, Waverly, Bremer County, Iowa. As of 28 December 1934, her married name was Kruger.
     On 1 April 1935 Emma Louise Kruger and Emil John Kruger lived at Dubuque, Dubuque County, Iowa.6 Circa 1936 Emma Louise Kruger and Emil John Kruger lived at the John Cornelius homestead farm house, Jackson Township, Jackson County, Iowa. Emil John Kruger started working as a farm laborer while Emma Louise Kruger did some rural school teaching in Jackson County, Iowa. She and Emil John Kruger were employed in 1936 at Bellevue, Jackson County, Iowa, by Cornelius Seed Corn Company as business partners.2 On 1 April 1940 Emma Louise Kruger and Emil John Kruger lived at Jackson Township, Jackson County, Iowa.6 They bought property from Lewis Henry Cornelius and Frances Wilhelmina Cornelius on 5 November 1940 at Jackson County, Iowa. 78 This was the site of the immigrant John Cornelius family homestead. Emma Louise Cornelius witnessed the destruction of the Cornelius Seed company's original corn drying house built in 1938 in a fire in October 1945 at Charles Cornelius' farm, Jackson Township, Jackson County, Iowa. In the Census of Andrew, Iowa in 1950 (6 April 1950), Emma was listed as a head of household at (apparently the west side of Highway 62 near W. Van Buren St.), Block 2, Andrew, Jackson County, Iowa.9
     She resided at Waverly, Bremer County, Iowa, in 1955.2 Emma was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Waverly, Bremer County, Iowa, after 1955. She was active in the Choir and Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America..2
     Emma Louise Cornelius was employed by Infelt's Variety Store10 from August 1955 to February 1956 at Waverly, Bremer County, Iowa. She was employed by Waverly Publishing Company from 1956 to 1958 at Waverly, Bremer County, Iowa, as a proofreader. She was employed by St. Paul's Lutheran Church from 1958 to 1981 at Waverly, Bremer County, Iowa, as their Financial Secretary. She was retired in 1981 at Waverly, Bremer County, Iowa. In the early years of her retirement, Emma Louise Cornelius worked part-time for New Generation Publishers, John Carl Ylvisaker's business office.

Her remains were buried or interred on 22 June 2021 at Andrew Cemetery, Andrew, Jackson County, Iowa.
     She lived at Fairfield Township, Jackson County, Iowa, on 1 April 1940 with William Burmahl and Alice Mae Burmahl.3 Wanda Lea Burmahl graduated in 1954 from Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls, Iowa. She was employed by DeWitt community school from 1954 to 1956 at DeWitt, Clinton County, Iowa, as a Kindergarten teacher. Terry Branstad to serve for a term of 6 years on the judicial nominating commission for the 7th Judicial District in February 1998. Gerald and Wanda was honored on 16 November 1998 at Maquoketa, Jackson County, Iowa. The family of Wanda Cornelius and the late Gerald Cornelius was named the Betty Sieverding 4-H Family of the Year in 1998.5. Wanda was honored in 2007. She was inducted in the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame.6

Conflicting evidence states that Emil was born on 21 April 1906 at Winside, Wayne County, Nebraska.2 He married Emma Louise Cornelius on 28 December 1934 at Rock Island, Illinois. Emil died on 17 November 1954 at Denver, Colorado, at age 48. He was in Denver for cancer treatment at the time of his death.2 His remains were buried or interred in November 1954 at Andrew Cemetery, Andrew, Jackson County, Iowa.2
     He lived at Pilger, Stanton County, Nebraska, on 15 April 1910 with Otto Herman Kruger and Martha H. Kruger.3 Emil John Kruger lived at Gurley Precinct, Cheyenne County, Nebraska, on 1 January 1920 with Otto Herman Kruger and Martha H. Kruger.4 Emil John Kruger lived at Gurley Precinct, Cheyenne County, Nebraska, on 1 April 1930 with Otto Herman Kruger and Martha H. Kruger.5
     On 1 April 1935 Emil John Kruger and Emma Louise Kruger lived at Dubuque, Dubuque County, Iowa.6 Emil John Kruger was employed after 1935 at Andrew, Jackson County, Iowa, as a farmer. He farmed the John Cornelius homestead for about 15 years. He was a student at Wartburg College at Waverly, Bremer County, Iowa, circa 1935. Circa 1936 Emil John Kruger and Emma Louise Kruger lived at the John Cornelius homestead farm house, Jackson Township, Jackson County, Iowa. Emil John Kruger started working as a farm laborer while Emma Louise Kruger did some rural school teaching in Jackson County, Iowa. Emil John Kruger and Emma Louise Kruger were employed in 1936 at Bellevue, Jackson County, Iowa, by Cornelius Seed Corn Company as business partners.7 On 1 April 1940 Emil John Kruger and Emma Louise Kruger lived at Jackson Township, Jackson County, Iowa.6
     They bought property from Lewis Henry Cornelius and Frances Wilhelmina Cornelius on 5 November 1940 at Jackson County, Iowa. 89 Emil John Kruger witnessed the destruction of the Cornelius Seed company's original corn drying house built in 1938 in a fire in October 1945 at Charles Cornelius' farm, Jackson Township, Jackson County, Iowa.
     In the Census of Dubuque, Iowa in 1950 (19 April 1950), Emil was listed as a head of household at 300 Wartburg Place, Dubuque, Dubuque County, Iowa. He was an enrolled student of Wartburg Seminary.10 After his interrupted education Emil John Kruger earned a Bachelor of Divinity degree from Wartburg Seminary May 1950 Dubuque, Dubuque County, Iowa.2
     Emil John Kruger was ordained at Salem Lutheran Church, Andrew, Jackson County, Iowa. He was employed by St. James Lutheran Church in July 1950 at Belle Fourche, Butte County, South Dakota, as pastor.2
